Huang advances to tenured position as associate professor

Bo Huang, PhD, has received tenure and advanced to the position of associate professor. He is a faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and he holds a joint appointment in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics.

Huang’s research centers on the development of new microscopy techniques for the study of important biological problems, including the spatial organization of the genome, the architecture of protein complexes, and the regulation of membrane receptor signaling.

After earning a BS in chemistry at Peking University and a PhD in chemistry from Stanford, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Harvard. He joined the School of Pharmacy faculty in 2009.

Among other honors and awards, Huang has received significant funding for his research from the W. M. Keck Foundation (2014), the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award (2011), the Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering (2010), and a Searle Scholar award (2010).
