The Quantitative Biosciences Institute (QBI) at UCSF presents a live panel to address the need to fund black scientists by implementing institutional changes. The conversation’s goal is to shine a light on the barriers minority scientists face and discuss a set of detailed action items that would foster an optimal framework for equity and inclusion in the biosciences through federal and private funding agencies.
I direct the financial, administrative, and educational affairs of the School, overseeing business operations, personnel management, and budgets. I lead the Office of Administration, which oversees all Dean’s Office activities related to communications, compliance, purchasing, finance, and operations.
Before joining the Dean’s Office, I served for 12 years as a chief financial officer for finance and administration in the Department of Physiology in the School of Medicine. I have worked in various management and financial roles at UCSF and the UC Office of the President for over 25 years. I received the 2019 Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Management.
