Zev Gartner, PhD, a faculty member in the UCSF School of Pharmacy, will lead a US$3.2 million grant to study the interaction of different types of cells in breast cancer at its earliest stages. Research results might ultimately identify new classes of targets for anticancer drugs. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Defense over 5 years.
