Gross advances to full professor

John Gross, PhD, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, has been promoted to full professor.

Researchers in the Gross Lab combine a wide variety of molecular biology and quantitative biochemistry techniques with biophysics and structural biology experiments, such as NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography, in order to understand how the composition, structure, and dynamics of multi-protein complexes affect their cellular function.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with high honors from Sewanee: The University of the South, John earned a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He went on to Harvard as a postdoctoral scholar, and joined the School of Pharmacy faculty in 2004. John has served as a vice chair for the department since 2011.

The department and the School recognize John’s departmental service, the importance of his research, and his continued promise. We offer our sincere congratulations to Gross on this important milestone.
