Finley provides medication therapy management to patients with depression

Psychiatric pharmacist Patrick Finley, PharmD, BCPP, spends his days not behind the pharmacy counter, but in the clinic interviewing patients with depression, determining the provisional diagnosis, selecting and prescribing medications, and working with patients over the long haul to make sure their medications are right for them. This comprehensive medication therapy management (MTM) approach is especially important for patients with depression, explains Finley, who sees 200 patients a year at the UCSF Medication Alliance Clinic. Finley’s story appears in the May 2011 issue of Pharmacy Today.
